Tonight Lútsen (my brother) and I will present Eternal Sunset at Dorkbot Eindhoven, at the Eindhoven University of Technology in, well… Eindhoven, the Netherlands. There are many Dorkbots around the world, the one in Eindhoven is organised by Kunst & Technologie Festival STRP and Studium Generale (TU/e). It’s a sort of informal gathering of like-minded people who are inspired by technology.
I will be presenting via Skype as I am living in Sydney. That also means that I will be presenting at around 5am…
If you want to come: it’s at the Gaslab, at the campus of the Eindhoven University of Technology and starts at 8.30pm.
Also starting this week - on the 29th - is Perfrom.Media, at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, USA. Perform.Media is a transdsiciplinart festival and symposium of creativity, reseach, theory and technoculture. It brings artists, directors, writers, composers, musicians, DJs/VJs, researchers and theorists together in a festival and symposium to share work and discuss around the performing of new media and technoculture.
Eternal Sunset is part of the Net.Art selection of the festival and will be exhibited for two weeks at the University’s School of Fine Arts Gallery.
This weekend (30 Sept / 1 Oct) Newcastle (in New South Wales, Australia) will once again be invaded by artists, writers and activists for the annual This Is Not Art Festival. The This Is Not Art Festival is really a combination of four of five coinciding festivals. One of them is Electrofringe - a hands on new media arts festival presenting a unique blend of high brow arts and below the belt culture that brews at the far edge of experimental thought and new media technology.
Eternal Sunset is presented in the ElectroOnline gallery of Electrofringe.
Here’s the clip about Eternal Sunset from Ehrensenf . It’s in German. Aber das ist natürlich überhaupt kein Problem! (Yahoo’s video files are a bit more secure, so you’ll have to follow the link for that one)
After some requests and to satisfy my own urges to share more about Eternal Sunset, I have added this blog to the site. Here I will post about all things Eternal Sunset (see the intro text on the right for an idea of what that might be).
Ok. That’s enough to kick this thing off. I declare this blog open!
This is the blog about the Eternal Sunset,
the website that continuously tunes into different webcams, chasing the sunset around the globe.
Here Adriaan Stellingwerff blogs about the latest developments around Eternal Sunset: site improvements,
art festivals and exhibitions presenting Eternal Sunset, blogs writing about Eternal Sunset, (amazing)
referrers to the site, etc.
Stay tuned and... Enjoy that special moment forever!
