Eternal Sunset at New Forms Festival

September 2nd, 2007 by Adriaan in Festivals and Exhibitions

Between the 6th and the 15th of September, Eternal Sunset will be exhibited at the New Forms Festival in Vancouver, Canada.

The theme of the festival is Re:Use, encompassing a wide variety of artistic and intellectual practices including, but not limited to, sampling, collage, remixing, and appropriation. Whether it involves the recycling of equipment and changes in its function, the reprogramming of material, the sampling and mashing-up of sounds and images or the rethinking of ideas, the notion of re:use encapsulates the continuous growth and change in media and electronic arts.

How does one submit sunsets to this site?

How do you submit images to this site?

Hi May,

Thanks for your questions!

Eternal Sunset uses live images from webcams. So the only way to submit sunsets to this site is to find a website with a webcam that catches the sunset (i.e. faces West), fill out the its details in the form on the “more” page of Eternal Sunset (http://www.eternalsunset.net/more.php) and hit the submit button.

We will then check if the webcam really captures the sunset, and if so, add it to the site (and credit you for contributing it).

Eternal Sunset always shows the sunset LIVE. This means of course, that you can’t submit still images or photographs to Eternal Sunset (as they are sunsets in the past)
